OK, I'm back. I had a two-month purge of stuff that I wasn't liking so much in my life and am now refreshed and re-energized for 2009. I've got a couple of things cooking that I am very excited about and I'll slowly drop in more facts as I feel more compelled to share over the course of the next few months. Also, my mom is doing a lot better, thanks!!

This year's Christmas was an interesting cap to a very busy year. This is the first year when our families had a grand kid to celebrate with. What does this mean, other than a heightened sense of celebration? Well my parents got a Christmas tree for the first time in fifteen years? We put up all kinds of lights so that Buddy had twinkling lights to gawk at.

One of the best things about the holiday season is all the days off, half days and a less stressful period of work. For those that are still working, I mean. One of the benefits is that I have a bit more time to go out and meet friends for food and drinks. So my man Ugongo, who is the master of all Asian cuisine in the San Gabriel Valley called me up and said we had to go to this place called the Boiling Crab.

If you ever hear me go on rants on food, you know that according to me, one of the easiest ways to judge whether or not the food is going to be good or not is to try one of their chicken dishes. I think chicken is both the easiest ingredient to work with as well as the hardest dish to cook really well. Fried chicken don't count.
